What are Gold Inlays?

Gold fillings, also called inlays or onlays, are composed of an alloy of gold, copper and other metals. A gold inlay is casting of a gold alloy and as such is very strong. Gold fillings require more than one office visit to place because they require impressions to manufacture at a dental laboratory.

What are the advantages of a Gold inlay over the other types of filling?

Gold inlays last the longest of any filling – 10-20 years at least and in some cases much longer. The benefits of gold inlays and restorations are:
